Wreck of a ship (sinking ship) should be placed on a base that is 2cm shorter than the original vessel it represents. There are some exceptions to this rule, which will be described each time.
1st Class Ship Wreck
Model: Represents a sinking Shikishima-class battleship.
Base length: 12 cm.
Colour scheme: Standard Japanese wartime.
2nd Class Ship Wreck
Model: Represents a sinking Admiral Nakhimov-class armoured cruiser.
Base length: 10 cm.
Colour scheme: Russian Baltic Fleet.
3rd Class Ship Wreck
Model: Represents a sinking Apollo-class protected cruiser.
Base length: 8 cm.
Colour scheme: British victorian or grey (after 1903).
4th Class Ship Wreck
Model: Represents a sinking Bainbridge-class destroyer.
Base length: 6 cm. (Exception: Bainbridge has a base length of 10 cm, but its wreck is 6 cm).
Colour scheme: Standard American wartime.
Four-Gun Battery
Base length: None.
Painting: Concrete, earth, and steel cannon.
Coastal artillery batteries are not placed on any bases. During the game, they are placed directly on the land/island.
Three-Gun Battery
Base length: None.
Painting: Concrete, earth, and steel cannon.
Coastal artillery batteries are not placed on any bases. During the game, they are placed directly on the land/island.
Two-Gun Battery
Base length: None.
Painting: Concrete, earth, and steel cannon.
Coastal artillery batteries are not placed on any bases. During the game, they are placed directly on the land/island.
Single-Gun Battery
Base length: None.
Painting: Concrete, earth, and steel cannon.
Coastal artillery batteries are not placed on any bases. During the game, they are placed directly on the land/island.
Lighthouses
Base size: 3×3 cm (one lighthouse per base).
Colour scheme: Lighthouses come in various colours, so you can let your imagination run wild or base it on an existing lighthouse.
Mortar
Mortars were used to damage opponent’s fortifications or (sometimes) even ships!
Base size: 3×3 cm. You can model a nice diorama on this base, depicting terrain around the mortar.
Colour scheme: Steel or black.
Martello Tower
Base size: 3×3 cm.
Colour scheme: The towers were stone and rarely painted, so they had the colour of local stone, granite, or sandstone.
Torpedo Pinnace
Base size: 4×3 cm.
Colour scheme: In line with the painting of the fleet to which it belongs. It can also be painted white, with wooden-coloured superstructures.
Three pinnaces are placed on one base.
