It was first introduced to the battlefields by Napoleon I. Their uniforms, especially the characteristic bearskins hats, aroused fear among the opponents. They knew that the best soldiers, who had the most experience and merit in battle, entered this formation. The Great Emperor used them as his final reserve, which was to deal the decisive blow and lead the opponent to defeat. This formation was, of course, the Imperial Guard.
Napoleon III brought it back to existence by recreating this separate corps. From then on, the guard consisted of a voltigeur division, a grenadier division, as well as guards zouaves and various types of cavalry: lancers or even guards cuirassiers.
Grenadiers during the Crimean War and in 1859 still wore very distinctive bearskin hats and were still considered an elite unit. They showed their strenght in the battle of Magenta.
Dear players, today we are pleased to open the presale of some of the prettiest figures in our collection. Guard Grenadiers, Guard Voltigeurs and Guard Chasseurs a Pied! The latter set can also be used as ordinary Chasseurs, so very useful for the French army.
But why should we just stop there? To enrich this offer even more, there are also great French Carabiniers who in their golden cuirasses will beautify every battlefield, while driving the opponent into the ground, and equally famous Lancers, ready to hit every enemy with their lances 🙂
Of course, we encourage you to participate in the pre-sale, which is a guarantee that we will send everyone their sets on the day of the premiere and you will not have to wait for replenishment of supplies. The release date is the second quarter of this year (most probable June).
